SWEA New York Mona Scholarship

SWEA New York Mona Johnsson Scholarship Varje år ger SWEA New York ut ett stipendium till en eller flera mottagare. Syftet är att stödja en person eller en organisation med band till New York i studier eller projekt som främjar kunskaper i svenska traditioner, språk, kultur, historia, och/eller samhälle: Behörighetskraven att söka är följande villkor uppnås:
-Ha anknytning till New York och Sverige
-Ha en konkret plan om hur stipendiet kommer att användas till
-Redogöra antingen i en skriftlig rapport eller muntlig presentation till SWEA New York om hur stipendiet kommer användas
-Om tillämpligt, ha en etablerad kontakt med universitetet, institutionen eller organisationen den ansökande kommer att studera
-SWEA uppmuntrar alla kön att söka
-SWEA medlemmar med familj kan dessvärre inte söka själva.

Ansökan är nu stängd, och mottagare kommer att meddelas i januari och stipendiet delas ut på årsmötet i februari, 2022. 

SWEA New York Mona Johnsson Scholarship SWEA, the Swedish Women’s Educational Association, is a global non-profit organization for Swedish and Swedish-speaking women who are living or have lived outside of Sweden. SWEA’s mission includes supporting awareness of the Swedish language, culture and traditions. SWEA supports education through scholarships and other projects. SWEA was founded in 1979 in Los Angeles by Agneta Nilsson and has since then grow to consist of 7,500 members distributed among over 70 chapters in 33 countries around the world. The New York chapter of SWEA was established in 1983 and has approximately 200 members.

Each year, SWEA New York awards one or several scholarships, depending on the applicant pool. Purpose To support a person or an organization with ties to New York in their efforts to advance/share knowledge of Swedish culture, traditions, language, history, or society. Eligibility criteria To be considered for the scholarship, an applicant must fulfill the following conditions -Have connections with New York and Sweden -Have concrete plans on how to use the scholarship -Commit to providing a report on how the scholarship was used, for instance by writing an article or giving a presentation to SWEA New York -If applicable, have established contact with the university, institution or organization where the applicant will study

-SWEA encourages all genders to apply -SWEA members and their families cannot apply

Application is now closed. Recipient will be informed in January and the scholarship will be given in at the SWEA NY Chapter annual meeting in February, 2022.
