SWEA New York SCHOLARSHIP – Criteria and How to apply

The purpose of the SWEA NY Scholarship is to support individuals and organizations with ties to both New York and Sweden whose work helps promote understanding and appreciation of Swedish culture, traditions, language, history, or society.

Whether you have an art project in need of funding, music to share, a Swedish book that deserves translation, a story worth telling, or an idea that could make a difference in your community we encourage you to apply.

Our $3,000 scholarship is intended to help bring promising ideas and projects to life.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have connections to both New York and Sweden.
  • Have concrete plans for how to use the scholarship.
  • Commit to providing a report on how the scholarship was used, for instance by writing an article or giving a presentation to SWEA New York; and
  • If applicable, have established contact with the university, institution or organization where they will study.
  • Both women and men are welcome to apply.
  • SWEA members and their immediate families are not eligible to apply.
